Best practices

What Makes a Good Meta Tag

Every set the generator writes follows the same three rules.

  • Keep Titles Under 60 Characters

Google shows roughly the first 580 pixels of a title. Every title here stays between 30 and 60 characters so the important part is never cut.

  • Write 120 to 160 Character Descriptions

Long enough to explain what the page offers, short enough to show in full on a desktop search result.

  • Lead With the Keyword, End With a Reason

Searchers scan for their query. Put the keyword early, then give them a clear reason to click.

Meta Tag Questions

The meta title is the HTML title tag of a page. Search engines show it as the clickable headline of a result, and browsers show it in the tab.
